Basic Skincare Routine

Wanting to dive into skincare but don’t know where to start? With all the lotions, serums, masks, moisturisers, etc available it can be mind boggling! Don’t worry, we have got you!

A simple skincare routine is all you need to get started on your way to great skin. So what is basic skincare?
What you need for a basic skincare routine is a cleanser, toner & moisturiser. Make sure to choose products that suit your skin type and then follow the below routine.

Cleanser

Cleanse once in the morning, rinse and follow with toner and moisturiser.

In the evening, cleanse twice, once to remove any makeup, sunscreen or build up on the skin, second time to clear the pores & skin.

Toner

Depending on the type of toner will depend on when you use it. If it is a normal hydrating toner use morning and evening after cleansing. If the toner contains AHA’s to exfoliate, use 2-4 times per week depending on your skin in the evening only.

Moisturiser

If you have oily skin, you will want to choose a lotion or gel based moisturiser. After toning apply your moisturiser morning and evening. In the morning apply sunscreen after and you are good to go!

These 3 steps are the basics for skincare, if nothing else, this should be your standard routine daily.
Once you have the basics in place and you are happy with how your skin is responding you can then start adding more products in.
Already doing the basics and want something more? Add a serum designed to treat any specific skin concerns you have. Use after toning and before moisturiser.
Still not quite sure where to start or what your skin type even is? You can always email us at skin@oohfabulous.com or message us on Instagram or Facebook and we can help!
