Makeup Trends To Embrace in 2017
Here are our predictions for the hottest makeup trends of 2017...
Lip Gloss
After what seems like the whole world falling in love with Matte Liquid Lipsticks in the past years, gloss is finally making a comeback!! Lip gloss is a much easier look to pull off if you are experimenting with different colours, due to the fact that they give a sheer wash of colour as opposed to a full coverage colour!! Look out for formulas that are smooth and buttery and steer clear of lacquers (they are the very sticky lipglosses that get everywhere!) Perfect for low maintenance day or beach looks or topping your favourite lipstick for high shine!

Dimensional Lips
We saw glitter lips, lip art, metallic and ombre effect lips everywhere in 2016, lips were a huge deal! Well it looks like it is here to stay in 2017. With the majority of brands coming out with metallic lip products, they are a great step into the fun lip looks, without too much effort.

Metallic Eye Makeup
Metallic's aren't just for the lips! Eye shadow metallic's have been showing up in the later part of 2016, and we only expect them to get bigger and better in 2017. Metallic Eye Shadows tend to be a different formula then normal powdered eye shadows, making it harder for a brush to pick them up, it is best to use your fingers to apply them to get the colour payoff for dazzling eyes!
We have metallic eyeshadows in the MUA Undress Me Too Palette and Elysium Palette
Natural Skin
We have seen alot of full coverage foundations, heavy contouring and dramatic under eye concealing of late. There is totally nothing wrong with that look, it is very high glam and stunning! However it is predicted there is going to be a swing back to a more natural, fresh look. To get the natural look, choose a light-medium foundation, only lightly powder the skin in the areas you need and dust bronzer over the cheekbones for subtle contouring.
Softer Brows
Who knew brows would be so important in our lives!! Heavily drawn brows have been in fashion for a while now, if done correctly they look a-maz-ing!!! But with the rise of micro-blading (feathered eyebrow tattooing, designed to look like hair) natural brows are coming back. Check out this tutorial by mega babe Desi Perkins on how to get the natural brow look.
Draping
What is draping you ask? Draping dates all the way back to the 60's, basically it is contouring using blush, as opposed to a contour powder. It gives a more flushed, but chiseled look. You can either do this with one blush colour, or you can use a deeper and a lighter shade for more dimension. Start by brushing the deeper shade just below the cheekbone, to contour, then lightly dust over the cheekbone, either with the lighter shade, or lightly with the one shade. Top with highlight, because well, we are still OBSESSED with highlighter!!
